About the Kinnari Thai Framed Art :

Kinnari or Kinnaree is a Thai mythological female human being, with half-woman and half swan. This Golden Lady Painting is generally depicted to be a young woman with the finest beauty. Kinnari appears to be part of Thailand famous love tale story since Ayuttaya period. This ancient mythical tale originated in Hindu traditions from India. In the story, the Charming Princess named Kinnari Manora had been in love with a human, the Prince Suton. In the Thai myth, Kinnari is excellent in dance, song, and poerty, hence she is a traditional symbol of feminine beauty and grace.

The picture of Kinnari has become an important part of Thai artistic tradition. In most of Buddhist temples and Royal palaces in Thailand, the golden figures of Kinnari has become a popular portray to decorate the monastery areas. Also, the story has inspired a classical Southern Thai dance. The Manorah dance became a cultural ceremony. The lovely celestial feature has appeared in popular South East Asian cultures.
